Melbourne Trading Cards has been a long time coming, created by people with a passion for the hobby of collecting, linking us all back to some of the earliest and fondest memories of our childhood. Whether it was the madness of the late 1990's Pokemon TCG or hunting for your favourite sportsperson's special trading card, nothing quite conjured the feeling of ripping open a fresh pack of cards!

The ubiquity of collectables in more recent times not only opens the doors for new collectors to enjoy the magic of card collecting, but offers old collectors an easy route back to what inspired them all those years ago - as well as a catch-up on what they've missed in the meantime! We hope our extensive range of products will offer new, old and every collector in-between with something exciting at a competitive price.

My child wants products relating to the latest set of Pokemon cards. How do I know which set that is?
Chasing down the latest and greatest products can be daunting for the uninitiated. That's why our helpful customer support team is always available to answer your questions as swiftly and thoughtfully as possible.

Pokemon TCG is a constantly evolving category that offers multiple expansions throughout the year. They offer a huge range of products, some of which include bundles of Pokemon cards from different expansion sets - even though the product description may not specify details! If you're ever unsure of the contents of a particular product you are interested in, please contact us at melbournetradingcards@gmail.com. We will be able to point you in the right direction to ensure your loved ones receive the gift you had in mind for them!
Which payment methods do you accept?
Melbourne Trading Cards is backed by world renowned payment processing companies Stripe and PayPal, allowing for a seamless and simple transaction. The easier it is to receive payments thanks to these companies means the quicker we get your goods delivered to your doorstep! We accept all major credit cards such as MasterCard, Visa, American Express and Discover.

We also accept payments through Laybuy, a Buy Now Pay Later company based in New Zealand. Laybuy allows customers to spread the total cost of their order over a six-week, interest-free period. The first of those six payment instalments are required upon checkout, with the remaining five payments to follow.
Where do you ship to?
Melbourne Trading Cards ships Australia wide! For those who might be overseas, unfortunately we are not shipping internationally.
When will I receive my order?
We send all our orders through Australia Post, and will have your order shipped within two days of receiving payment. In normal circumstances, standard shipping can take between two to eight business days for most metropolitan areas in Australia. Express shipping usually takes between one to two business days for most metropolitan areas in Australia. Allow for some disparity where rural areas are concerned.

Please don't hesitate to contact us if you have not received your order or believe there is an issue. Be mindful of the fact that we cannot be held accountable for shipping delays or lost parcels from Australia Post. In any event, contact us via email and we will do our utmost to assist in the location of your item.
What days will you not be dispatching orders?
We will not be dispatching orders on Sundays or public holidays. These days include New Year's Day, Australia Day, Labour Day, Good Friday, Easter Monday, ANZAC Day, Queen's Birthday, Friday before the AFL Grand Final, Melbourne Cup, Christmas and Boxing Day. We will also be working reduced hours during the Christmas and New Year period, so keep an eye out for updates when placing orders at that time.
I need to cancel my order. What do I do?
So long as your order has not shipped, you are entitled to a full refund. Just contact us via email that a mistake has been made and we will act accordingly. Where possible, please let us know the reason for your cancellation and if there is anything else we can do to improve your experience with us.
In the event that your order has shipped, you can still receive a full refund minus the cost of sending the item back. In order to receive this refund you must wait until the package arrives. Then, return the item unopened and in the condition it was when it arrived - contact us for return delivery details - and upon retrieval of the item we will refund you. Remember, in this event you will need to cover the cost of returning the item.
Do you take Pre-Orders?
We accept pre-orders on selected products. You will know which products are available for pre-order by taking note of the 'pre-order' tag placed above the product image. We will always do our best to attach an estimated arrival date alongside the pre-order tag, but sometimes this information isn't available until late notice.

Regarding pre-orders, any cart including pre-order items will be dispatched as soon as we receive stock. You can secure your purchase of an item before it's release date by pre-ordering with us, but please note that due to demand we reserve the right to cancel any pre-order. Obviously, this is a last-resort option, as prior to any cancellation we will do our best to keep you updated on the status of your pre-order. The manufacturer reserves the right to change the release date at any time, so we apologise in advance for any delays.

Lastly, if you choose to mix an order with items that are in stock and available only for pre-order, we will dispatch your order when ALL of your products are in stock. The same can be said for multiple pre-orders in one cart; the order will not be dispatched until ALL products are in stock.
I noticed some information changed without warning. Why is that?
Melbourne Trading Cards reserve the right to make changes to this website at any time, including information regarding pricing, product descriptions, pictures and terms and conditions. We endeavour to keep our lines of communication with customers open to ensure most significant changes will not happen until we've given notice of said changes.

Melbourne Trading Cards aims to ensure the information provided is complete, accurate and relevant. Occasionally, this may not be the case. Melbourne Trading Cards reserve the right to amend incorrect information at any time.

What is your return policy?
When we say that we offer only the highest quality trading cards, we mean it. But how can we be so sure? Because we are supplied by some of the most well-known and trusted companies in the country, guaranteeing that our fully licensed, sealed products are the cream of the crop. For this reason, we take pride in not only the quality of our products but the lofty heights we set for ourselves in customer service.

It is your right as a consumer, under Australian Competition and Consumer Commission law, to receive a refund if it is found that there is a major problem with the product. In the event that you find a major problem with one of our products, send us a photo of the defective product via e-mail and we will review it. If we confirm that there is indeed a major problem with the product, we will send you the address of our workplace in order for you to return the product. In this event, you will receive a full refund and will not have to cover the return shipping costs. Please note that we cannot refund products that were returned for a simple 'change of mind'.
Additionally, any refunds for damaged goods will see return shipping costs covered by Melbourne Trading Cards so long as the request was lodged within seven days of you receiving your order. After seven days, you may still receive a full refund of the damaged item, but you will have to cover the costs of returning it to us. Leniency will be applied to this ruling within reason.
What is your privacy policy?
At Melbourne Trading Cards, we strive to ensure the safety of all private information collected from anyone who views or purchases from our online store. We do this by complying with the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs), acknowledging that we require personal information to complete orders. Cookies, which are small packets of data stored on your computer's web browser, may be used to track consumer preferences when browsing our site.
For the purpose of completing orders, we ask for your name, email address, billing address, delivery address, phone number and payment information. We will not sell, misuse, interfere, modify or disclose your data to any overseas recipients or other third parties.

All orders placed through Melbourne Trading Cards are protected via Secure Sockets Layer (SSL), top-tier data encryption software that jumbles characters together unintelligibly to keep your private information confidential as it passes between web browsers.
How do I become a member and what does it offer me?
You can sign up as a member for free. Membership offers customers the chance to accumulate redeemable points for future purchases, pre-order before the general public on highly sought-after Pokémon sets and exclusive discount codes.

To sign up for membership, click the login/sign-up button at the top of the page (desktop) or after clicking the drop down menu in the top right-hand corner (mobile). After becoming a member, every $1 spent on the website will add 1 point to your account, with 100 of these points equalling $2 of store credit! Special one-off redeemables are available also after signing up, such as through liking us on Facebook (100 points) or following us on Instagram (100 points)!
How do I redeem these member points to unlock discounts for my next order?
After completing one of the actions stated above to receive member points, you will need to seek out the rewards tab in the bottom left corner of the screen (both on desktop and mobile). After clicking on this, you will find a 'Ways to redeem' button - this will show you all of your available options with the member points you have accumulated. Start saving on your favourite TCG goods now!

What condition are the single cards you have listed in?
All cards listed for purchase on the website are in Near Mint condition with the exception of cards listed in the 'Vintage' section. Conditions on these cards will vary, though none listed have significant damage. If you are interested in purchasing a vintage card but need confirmation on the condition of the card, feel free to email Jorge at melbournetradincards@gmail.com - he will be happy to provide a picture of the card you are interested in!​

Otherwise, all other cards have been sleeved immediately after opening from various booster packs - primed and ready to fill out your binders or possibly even for grading!
